Some suggestions:
- Look over the marking sheet, understand what you need to do to get a good mark
- Plan out your essay, what is it that you want to say.
- Understand what you're writing about, re-read the articles and re-listen to the radio programs to look for something you may have missed.
- Construct a clear and focussed argument, do not just sum up for me what we have read in class
- In your first sentence say clearly what your argument is.
- Use the rest of that paragraph to outline the reasons why what you say is true
- Use the rest of your paragraphs to expand and give more detail on your reasons
- Reference the three cases we looked at in class, and any of your own knowledge to support your argument
- Never use I, me, we, my
- No spelling mistakes
- No mistakes with capital letters
- Write short, clear sentences
- Say exactly what you want to say, nothing more, and nothing less. Include all that is important to your argument, and leave out everything else
