Friday

Happy Christmas all.
Lots of math below.

Over the holidays, review your Romeo and Juliet lines a couple times.

Thank you for all the wonderful gifts.

Best wishes to all of your families.

Getting ahead over Christmas: There are two excellent articles posted to the right. L'Arche and The Point of Prison. They will be our major readings for January. You are going to be asked to read them on your own. We will not read them together in class. One of them is quite long. Why not get ahead and read them over the holidays. What to do - Read the articles. Make some notes as you go along. What are the main points? What is each article trying to say?

Christmas Math!!
In the song 12 days of Christmas, by the end of it all, by the end of the twelfth day, how many birds has my true love given?

(Hint: It's a lot of birds. On day 1 it's a partridge. On day two, it's another partridge and two turtle doves. So already, by the end of day 2, it's 4 birds).

Surface Area Math

A typical sticky note measures 7cm by 7cm.

How many sticky notes would it take to cover the file cabinet?
(All sides, the top, but not the bottom)
